"Dr. Sachs began his teaching career in the speech and rhetoric department of Cal State-Long Beach and fulfilled a visiting assistant professorship at the University of Utah-Salt Lake prior to relocating to Buffalo. He earned a doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham, where he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1994. He has published in the Western Journal of Speech Communication, Speech Communication Teacher, and in an anthology on freedom of speech entitled, Silencing the Opposition: Government Suppression of Freedom of Expression. His work experience includes serving as director of development for MD Call in Williamsville and for a non-profit organization in Los Angeles. He also provided community relation services for Delphi Harrison Thermal Systems and provided consultation to Franklin Covey Scientific Services. Dr. Sachs serves as assistant coach for the UB men’s tennis team and has coached at Canisius College and Niagara University."
